Heart Doctors

The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing medical care and expertise to the most vulnerable. PCRF’s work includes bringing over Medical Missions – International teams of Doctors, Emergency nurses, Perfusionists, Anaesthetists and more who volunteer their time to provide life saving heart surgeries to the children and young adults from the challenging regions in Palestine and Lebanon. In addition to offering a sense of hope to the kids and their families the medical missions train local staff and the hungry for knowledge and experience future doctors. Most of the volunteer medical teams come back, time and time again, and make lifelong connections with the places and build strong friendships with the people. Working tirelessly, performing lengthy and complicating surgeries the teams are a true example of what humanity should and can be. I am sure that the kids’ smiles and their Mum’s and Dad’s happy hugs is a reward like no other. Here are just a few photographs to capture the Heart Doctors as they operate at Makassed Hospital located in East Jerusalem.

ICU – Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah

In 2015, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund launched a new congenital heart project in the Palestine Medical Complex to identify and treat sick babies from the West Bank and Gaza, as well as to build up a long-term sustainable independent Palestinian department.
